FASHION NEWS ; ARTIKEL

Denny Wirawan mengambil tema ‘Potrait of a Lady’ dari tahun 50-an.

Lewat label ‘Mongoloid’ miliknya ia mengeluarkan rancangan bertema ‘Beautiful Structure’.

ISSUE CELEBRITY ; LINDSAY LOHAN PLEA DEAL ; REJECTED By Train Wreck

Well, this comes as a surprise ... and yet not. Lindsay Lohan apparently will NOT take the plea deal the judge offered in her felony grand theft case.
The troubled star, who insists she is innocent and did not steal that $2,500 necklace, will proceed to trial and hope to remain free in the meantime.
Lindsay's case is now assigned to Judge Stephanie Sautner - considered "a tough but fair" judge - with a preliminary hearing is set for April 22.

Tight Dress on Lindsay
She faces both jail and prison as the case moves on. Here's why ...
If Judge Sautner thinks Lindsay Lohan violated probation, she could be jailed pending trial. Then, if Lindsay is convicted of grand theft, state prison beckons.
The fact that she could be thrown in jail for a probation violation before her grand theft trial made a plea bargain and three months in jail seem pretty light.
Still, it wasn't without its own set of risks. If she copped a plea, which she was considering seriously, she would have been placed on three years' probation.
LiLo? Staying clean for three years? ROFL. Might as well go b@lls out now.
In short, she's hoping the judge will NOT rule on the probation violation until a verdict is reached in the grand theft case, and that she'll be cleared there.

ASHLEY GREENE IS THE ONLY CELEBRITY WE'VE SEEN AT MILAN FW

When we spied Ashley Greene in Gucci’s front row yesterday, we figured she was an actress, but we had no idea who she was.
Sorry, Twilight fans.
But we digress: Ashley looked great in her Gucci resort dress while toting a fabulous bamboo handle bag, also made by the company.
There were plenty of cute pieces in Frida Giannini’s Fall 2010 collection that the starlet could wear to red carpet events–especially this short burgundy number–but what honestly interested us more than the clothes was the fact that Greene was the first and only actress we’d seen all week.
Sure, there was certainly a decrease in celebrity traffic at New York Fashion Week, but in London it was back to star-studded front rows.
What gives? In Milan, it seems that the focus is really on selling clothes, not scoring publicity. Nearly every big fashion house does a separate show for buyers and press, that way they can get as many people to view the collections as possible. Celebrity endorsements may be good for branding, but it’s difficult to prove whether or not having them in your front row actually sells clothes.

KOREAN CELEBRITIES AT FASHION SHOW CATWALK

Korean Celebrities has a good posture to cast as a catwalk model. Many of the celebs tall enough and slim, therefore frequently invited into fashion show event and pointed as a guest model.

Some example is the fashion show  Seoul Fashion Week - Jo Sung Gin’s fashion show” was held at Seoul SETEC exhibition centre on the 21st October afternoon. “Young Ran” (East of Eden) Lee Yeon Hee and “Dong Woo” (Women in the Sun) Jung Gyu Woon attended the event.

On April 1st, celebrities such as Yoon Eun Hye, Kara, Kim Sung Eun, Lee So Yeon, Amy, Go Eun Ah, Yoo InYoung, Suh Ji Hye, Jung Ae Yeon, Hong Soo Ah, Jessica, Choi Hwa Jung, and Kim So Eun attended designer Son Jung Wan's fashion show.

They promoted the new fashion style of Korean Designer Dress. Takes a look of their photos in new korean fashion show model :

RIHANNA TO COVER APRIL ISSUE OF AMERICAN VOGUE

Vogue cover subjects don’t usually reveal that they’re about to be Vogue cover subjects to nearly three million people but that’s just what Rihanna did when she tweeted yesterday to her 2.8 million followers, “Just wrapped my first American Vogue cover shoot with Annie Leibovitz…Rah! #SEXY.” The tweet is now down, which would imply that Riri wasn’t really supposed to let her cover coup slip. Oh, well.
Regardless, we have word from a source that Rihanna is indeed slated to cover Vogue‘s April issue, following Lady Gaga. It marks Rihanna’s first cover for the magazine (she covered Vogue Italia’s September couture supplement).
Kristen Stewart (February), Lady Gaga (March), now Rihanna…we like where Vogue is headed with their cover models in the new year. Lots of first timers and diversity too.

FIVE THINGS THAT MAKE LONDON FASHION WEEK MORE FUN THAN CHRISTMAS

I’m having a really good time at London Fashion Week. Here’s why:
1. The Topshop venue. Along with its own Unique show, Topshop sponsors quite a few emerging designers, including Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll, and Mary Katrantzou. The venue itself–Old Billingsgate Market in The City–is airy and filled with light, but what’s really incredible is the food. Yep. Not only does Topshop have unlimited waters, champagne, and espresso on hand, they also serve a new menu for each show. Like, a four course menu including a signature cocktail. (This morning at Peter Pilotto, it was yogurt and granola, bacon canapes, plum muffins, and freshly-squeezed blood orange juice. Last night at Richard Nicoll, it was olives, charcuterie, truffled brie cheese….the list goes on, but you get the point.) Anyways, it’s all FREE. That’s right–free.

2. Registering is a cinch. I don’t even officially register for New York Fashion Week because it’s such a pain. In London, it’s necessary because you are scanned in every time you enter a new room at Somerset House (their answer to Lincoln Center.) The good news? It takes 2 seconds. Literally. They take your ID, look you up, and your pass magically appears. Registering also gives you access to the fashion bus–a lifesaver for those of us who don’t always have access to a car.

3. Press lounges. Somerset House boasts a big press lounge, where they serve free coffee, water, and yes, food! The wifi actually works and it’s always crowded–but never too crowded. Being able to tuck in there for an hour or two makes getting my work done way easier. They’ve also got a “blogger bar” with tons of laptops available for use.

4. The best parties. I tend to send other reporters to parties at New York Fashion Week, mostly because I’m too knackered to go, but also because I don’t particularly like going. (Obviously, there are exceptions to that rule, such as Rag & Bone.) In London, the parties are really fun! I WANT to go! I don’t always follow through–last night, Emily covered Mulberry’s bash for us as I could not peel myself away from the computer–but I want to go! Tonight there’s a Love party with Alex Wang, an AnOther mag party, a Linda Farrow party, Giles’ after party…so much. And I’m actually excited about them, even with only six hours of sleep under my belt.

5. Olivia Palermo. Okay, not Olivia in particular, but the idea of Olivia. Brits love their celebrities, and there are a lot of them. The front row here is always so eclectic–from Kirsten Dunst to Samantha Cameron, who I was sitting next to today at Holly Fulton–and it proves to me that the Brits are anything but snobbish.
PS: A big thanks to Swarovski for sponsoring my trip to LFW.

LOUIS VUITTON FALL 2011 ; KATE MOSS , NAOMI CAMPBELL AND MORE WALK MARC JACOBS.

Leave it to Marc Jacobs to put on the most lavish and possibly most expensive show of Paris fashion week for Louis Vuitton.
The tent for the show at the Cour Carrée du Louvre was all in black and surrounded by big black balloons–a hint that something playful and naughty was to come. Inside a fleet of women dressed as chambermaids–white collars, black skirts, feather dusters–escorted editors and buyers to their seats and served coffee and champagne (whichever you prefer to start your day off with). The runway was more of a stage–a black glossy square with a set of three ornate old-fashioned cage elevators at the center. You can guess where this is going: models, all 67 of them (including Kate Moss, Raquel Zimmerman, Naomi Campbell and Amber Valletta), entered the runway from the elevators, which were operated, naturally, by uniformed older gentlemen who opened the door every time a model ascended.
Oh, so about the actual show. The definition of “fetish” was printed in bold on Vuitton’s line sheets. And Jacobs knows that it’s all about the accessories, particularly at a place like Vuitton, so his collection centered around the Lockit bag. “In this season’s Louis Vuitton collection ‘Fetish’ and ‘Fashion are explored through their interchangeable meanings…At the heart of this dialogue, as if often the case for both fetish and fashion, is a magical object: the Lockit handbag,” the line sheet read. Almost every model carried a variation on the Lockit, and to fetishize it–to show the wearer’s devotion to her handbag–Jacobs cleverly handcuffed some of his girls to their bags (handcuffs cast in 18-carat gold and occasionally diamond encrusted, of course).
As for the clothes, they actually reminded me a lot of Jacobs’ eponymous collection. Jacobs’ own collection presented in New York had a militaristic, severe feel, and his collection for Vuitton had obvious military inspirations: models wore captain’s caps with thick wool military coats, blouses with stiff jodhpurs. Textures–patent leather, lacquered python, shearling, guipure, and shiny paillettes, also in python–recalled the materials from his New York collection, too (albeit without polyester and fabric trickery). But in keeping with the whole fetish thing, there were corsets, body suits embellished with fur and sequined embroidery, and high waisted lingerie boy shorts (the line sheets called them “pants” but they were more like panties) paired with nylon thigh highs.
And as if all of that showmanship weren’t enough, the one and only Kate Moss closed the show while smoking a cigarette.

WOULD YOU RATHER ....? THE CAT AS THE HAT EDITION

There are a lot of over-the-top head pieces in this world, most of them living on the head of Anna Dello Russo, but hats that looks like cats are certainly a new breed of toppers. Would you rather sport Anna Sui’s realistic looking cat hat or PPQ’s stylized version?
P.S. If you just want to watch cat videos on the Internet instead of wear cats on your head, you should check out Maru, who serves as the background for this Would You Rather. No one will ever love boxes as he does.

Glitter Dos and Don'ts

Remember the good old high school days, when as young teenagers you wore glitter on your eyes, nails and hair almost every day? It was hip, it was cool, and it made you feel like a princess. But now you have grown into a fine young lady and are ‘expected’ to behave like one. So there is no room for some ‘sparkle’ in your make up kit, right? WRONG! Glitter is a tiny little, versatile and easy to use tool in your make up kit, which if used correctly can give you the sexy X-factor, the additional oomph that would make many a head turn twice to get another look at you. All that you need, apart from the enthusiasm to experiment with your looks, is to stick to some basic guidelines, as it is very easy to go all wrong with glitter if you don’t do it right.

Choosing the Right Shades and color
Eye shadow is perhaps the single most important part of your entire glitter eye make up. Make sure that the color and shade suit your skin tone, the color of your eyes, and your dress.
• In general warm complexion would look great with rich and deep colored shadows like shades of orange, rust or cinnamon.
• Similarly, different shades of pink, purple or blue complement the cooler complexion.
• As an example, those of you with toffee complexion could try shimmery and shining gunmetal eye shadow, a potentially lethal combo.

Glitter Eye Gel

Once you have the right eye shadow color, its time to go for a glitter eye gel for your eye lids. It adds a nice smooth satin edge to the overall look of your eyes.

For those Luscious Lips
Lips are the centre piece of your face, so let’s not try to go overboard with the experimentation here.. Go for a lip gloss of an appropriate shade, and then you could try adding some restrained, shiny sparkles to it. Use your discretion, and keep in mind the occasion or the event you’re dressing for. Lipstick with a coat of some shiny gloss can always be a great way to add some glitter to those lips.

Its Time To' Nail 'It

A shiny, glittery, sparkling nail polish never goes out of style! Match the color of the nail polish with that of eye shadow for a truly fashionable look and ‘they’ will notice the difference.

Experiment With Sparkling Accsesories

Want to try some glittery accessories? Why not? A sparkly silver colored headband would pair wonderfully well with a simple white dress. If you’re one of the more adventurous ones, you could try a glittering bindi (straight from the east, worn between the eye brows and made popular by Gwen Stefani) for that exotic look.

Glittering Tattoos

Be really careful here unless you are a 13 year old (or Mariah Carey)! A loud glittery tattoo has the potential to take the focus away from entire outfit and even wreck your look. On the other hand a chic, slightly understated and strategically placed sparkling tattoo would be great if you want to highlight your teasing, playful spirit.

Occasion Defines The Look

Finally, the kind of look that you are pining for would ultimately boil down to the occasion. All of the above tools depend on the occasion. If you are looking for a prim and proper classy lady look; then go for a toned down, subtle style of glitter. The idea here is to accentuate not dominate. On the other hand, a young and peppy or a rock star kind of look would demand a bit more creativity and a daring spirit wouldn’t hurt either. For these looks, you can go for bold colors and designs.

Don’t Go OVERBOARD

Remember, you’re not going for a fancy dress competition (unless you really are!). Avoid overusing loud colors and designs. The purpose is not to turn into a walking, talking shiny disco ball, but to glow graciously in the vivacity of the glitter.

Glitter is a great way to unleash that inner child of yours out in the open, it lets you ‘play’ with your look and turns heads. Lets all go glitter!
