FASHION NEWS : CFDA PRESIDENT DIANE VON FURSTENBERG LET A 15 YEARS OLD MODEL WALK IN HER SHOW

About a week before New York Fashion Week, the CFDA, helmed by Diane von Furstenberg, re-released a set of health initiative guidelines issued in 2007 to address concerns over the health of models. Regarding the age of models, the guidelines stipulate that designer should, “support the well-being of younger individuals by not hiring models under the age of sixteen for runway shows; not allowing models under the age of eighteen to work past midnight at fittings or shoots; and providing regular breaks and rest. (Consult the applicable labor laws found at www.labor.state.ny.us when working with models under sixteen.)”

Only at her show last week , von Furstenberg didn’t practice what she preaches. It seems that 15-year-old Hailey Clauson (we’re pretty sure she’s the 15-year-old in question) walked in the designer’s fall 2011 show.
A source just forwaded an email  from DVF to “colleagues and designers,” in which she admitted, “it is to my horror, that I discovered last Friday that in spite of me repeating that to my production and casting people, one girl slipped through the cracks. One girl who will be 16 in March walked my show last week!”
Von Furstenberg goes on to apologize profusely for the oversight, which, considering the fashion industry’s fondness for the under-16 set and the mayhem of fashion week, is understandable. (Daphne GroeneveldVogue, booked a Miu Miu campaign and walked for Calvin Klein, Prada and Jil Sander all at 15.) “I was horrified and terribly embarrassed,” von Furstenberg continues in her email. “From now on I will instruct my casting people to demand ID’s. I encourage you to do the same…Please accept my apology. I am trying to be a good leader and set an example…so please please accept my apology.” covered the controversial Tom Ford guest-edited issue of French
Considering DVF spent last Friday telling Tina Brown how embarrassed she was for fueling the Michelle Obama McQueen controversy, her week is off to a rough start.
The email in full:
Dear Colleagues and Designers,
I hope you are all resting from NY Fashion Week and that you are having great results from buyers and press.
As you remember, I sent you all a letter prior to the shows, emphasizing healthy models and diversity, and reminding you of our Health Guidelines.
One of the guidelines, as you know, is not to hire models under 16 in addition to making sure that all of them are properly fed.
Well, it is to my horror, that I discovered last Friday that in spite of me repeating that to my production and casting people, one girl slipped through the cracks. One girl who will be 16 in March walked my show last week!
I was horrified and terribly embarrassed. From now on I will instruct my casting people to demand ID’s. I encourage you to do the same.
Please accept my apology. I am trying to be a good leader and set an example…so please please accept my apology.
Love to you all.

FASHION NEWS BAJU24 : OSCAR - WORTHY FINALES AT VERSACE AND GIANFRANCO FERRE

ABOUT FASHION NEWS

Could someone puh-lease FedEx Versace‘s finale gown straight to the Oscars? And while you’re at it throw in a couple from the Gianfranco Ferré finale as well. Both are gorgeous, modern, sexy and oozing with a cool factor that’s got Oscar-winner written all over them! And with Dior probably out of the running for tonight’s big night, we could use some fresh labels on the red carpet.
Both Ferré and Versace showed slick, modern collections on Friday.

At Ferré, sculpted daywear in clean, and narrow silhouettes was done in luxe leathers, velvet, fur and plenty of metallic shine as well as razor sharp eveningwear.
Medusa heads on gold buttons, Baroque scrolling patterns coiling around sharp shift dresses and military suits brought a modish and modern vibe to the house of Versace. With Prince on the soundtrack and Duran Duran in front row, Donatella mixed graphic vibrant colours, tough leathers and some incredibly luxe furs. The super-slim, feather trimmed silver halter gown worn by model of the moment, Arizona Muse is surely worthy of red carpet glory…

FASHION NEWS BAJU24 : A MYSTERY IN THE OLD TOWN -

IN TODAY'S OUTFIT

Last week affi and i went to the other part of jakarta where we rarely visited. This part of our town have a lot of old buildings from the colonial era where they stand filled with history and stories to tell. If u wondering why were we venturing this far in to the city, we were checking out the venue for our next event.

It’s going to be big and lot of fun! There will also be a “mystery” soon to be revealed in this part of Jakarta. We can’t tell you what it is yet, but trust us, it’s something you’d want to see.

Can you guess where we were? Seeing at all the pictures above don’t you think it’s going to be an exciting place to hold an event? Any thought or guess on what we’re going to hold here?
This is what Affi and I wore during that day. We were trying to be as practical as possible since we’re traveling with Trans Jakarta and there was a lot of walking involved.

NEW HAIR FOR ONE PIECE MAKEOVER WINNERS

Either you want to look fresh and new , to keep your hair healthy, or simply want to trust your hair to the perfect hand, hair makeover in the right salon answer it all. And we realy our beloved readers to get hair make over in one piece Hair studio.

    1. Sasti / @Shizuoka / Shizuoka (real name/ Twitter ID/ Female Daily forum ID)

“Thanks for making this contest! Been longing to change my hairstyle for years,” that’s Sasti commenting on this contest. Sasti was the first winner who got her hair done by One piece hair stylist . When she had long hair, she couldn’t do anything beside trying her hair up or down. As she wrote on the thread, she wanted to have short bob haircut. She doesn’t mind styling and blowing her hair everyday because she loves bob hair.
Kevin Ding was One Piece hairstylist who realized Saski’s dream. Before conducting the hair makeover, Kevin analyzed Sasti’s hair condition and asked aboutthe hairstyle she wanted. Then his first action was coloring Sasti’s hair with natural dark brown to give it a new color, but still taking Sasti’s skin tone into consideration. Then he cut Sasti’s hair carefully strand by strand to reach the desired length. After blow drying it, Kevin kept cutting the hair precisely so it resulted in a perfect mushroom bob hair. She looked really cute and fresh! That was a dramatic change for her, but Sasti admitted that she was happy for the result. Also, she never had either short hair and bangs before. We’re really glad you like it, Sasti!

    2. Irna / @aralefallacy / Arale

Before having her hair makeover, the last time she had haircut was on July 2007. Those 3 years are long enough to grow Irna’s hair to the waist length that almost reach the butt! No wonder the hair was so heavy and caused massive hairloss. With this makeover contest, she wanted to chop it short to make it felt light and breezy.
At One Piece Hair Studio, I was a bit surprised to see another photographer taking picture of the makeover process. I thought he was sent from another media. But then I found out that the photographer was Irna’s boyfriend :) How cute it is to have your boyfriend capturing each moment of the makeover process!
Talking about the makeover, again Kevin Ding became the trusted One Piece Hairstylist to do the hair makeover. Since Irna’s hair was so long, Kevin tied her hair before cutting it off. It left a bundle of Irna’s hair as reminiscence. Then Kevin cut and formed to shoulder-length hair. Afterward, he gave a touch of gold to the hair so it looked brighter. Irna’s skin is quite fair so the haircolor looked good on her. After that cutting and coloring process, Irna’s hair was not only blowdried, but also curled to make it even more beautiful. No other word but pretty to describe Irna’s new look. She definitely loved it!

    3. Rachel/ @Rachalda/ Vlaire

Previously, Rachel cut her bangs and colored her hair by herself. Now that she got hair makeover from One Piece Hair Studio, she doesn’t need to plan a Do-It-Yourself project for her hair anymore. Her hair was already in the expert’s hands. Kyosuke, the hairstylist, cut Rachel’s hair right at the shoulder and made layer at the front part. Her bangs was cut blunt to create a balance with the layer. Actually, Kyosuke planned to color the hair with brown but he couldn’t since Rachel’s hair was colored about a month ago. The color wouldn’t be absorbed by the hair unless it was bleached. But bleaching is not something recommended by One Piece hairstylists because it may damage the hair shaft. Well, without getting a new color, Rachel’s new hair is pretty already. After the makeover process had finished, Rachel said “Arigato Gozaimas” several times to Kyosuke to express how she loved her beautiful new haircut :D
We wanted to thank One Piece Hair Studio for this wonderful contest and thank you for participating in it. If you haven’t won this time, don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future. But if you can’t wait that long, call now and book appointment with any of the talented stylist above and get your own fabulous hair makeover!

OSCARS 2011 : THE FASHION TEAM PLACES BETS ON WHO'LL TAKE TOP HONOURS

By Siofan Davies, Rani Sheen and Lesa Hannah
The Oscars air this Sunday, and let’s be frank: It’s a competition determined by a bunch of narcissists—is the piece important enough, is the actor deserving, what does it mean within the context of cinema in America? We won’t be considering these lofty questions, but rather, who do we want to win? (In the Best Foreign Language category, it’s obvious: Canada’s Denis Villeneuve and Incendies FTW!)
    The voters are…
Siofan Davies, assistant editor/research and cynical film-industry watcher
Rani Sheen, features editor and lover of good stories
Lesa Hannah, beauty director and ringmistress of FASHION’s annual Oscar pool

    Let the games begin!

NAEEM KHAN FALL 2011 : GLAMOUR DEFINED

NAEEM LHAN IS PRIMED TO TAKE OVER THE RED CARPET WITH THESE BEAUTIFULLY INTRICATE GOWNS AND DRESESS

A look from Naeem Khan's Fall 2011 show (Getty) With his Fall 2011 collection, Naeem Khan has ensured his place on the awards season red carpet. There was no end of glittery showstoppers at his Thursday evening fashion show, a parade of floor-length gowns and elegant party frocks covered in beads, crystals and delicate embroidery.

But for all the sparkle, there was plenty of sophisticated restraint, too. Many of the gowns had a slouchy '70s appeal to them, built for a comfortable sophistication not often glimpsed in formal wear. More classic, corseted silhouettes featured rich, luscious eastern-inspired embroidery.

37 OF OUR FAVORITE OSCAR DRESSES OF ALL TIME

    by  | Wednesday - 1:35PM

    FALL 2011 TRENDS WE LOVE

    1. VELVET
Deep luxe velvet caught our eye.

We can't get enough of Proenza Schouler's exceptional
panné velvet graphic dress, while daywear boast fresh silhouettes from the likes of
Jenni Kayne, Steven Alan, and Tory Burch. Slick, chic, and tailored.

Left to right: Steven Alan, Jenni Kayne, Proenza Schouler, Tory Burch
    2. TUX LUXE
    Tuxedo dressing comes into play.

Menswear-inspired suits and separates were remixed
with tuxedo details creating a decadent directional statement. DKNY's tuxedo
striped cape coat will make for a standout topper, and we can't stop
swooning over Derek Lam's bright red and black trousers.
    .
Left to right: Ralph Lauren, Derek Lam, DKNY, Bill Blass.

    3. SHEEN
Shimmer and shine makes everything look fine.

Come Fall, we're dousing ourselves in a little, or a lot, of glossy components.
    Preen's multi-colored mash-up is a genius take on dressed-up daywear, and we're
obsessing over DVF's stunning horizontal striped dress.
    .

Left to right: Preen, Jen Kao, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg.

    4. PEPLUM
Sweet poufs of volume add texture and depth.

Peplum detailing, no longer just for French aristocrats, received a fresh
face lift for Fall. Thakoon's fanciful take on the lumberjack plaid vest was a pure stroke
of genius. Other notable pieces hail from Marc Jacobs's bedazzled ensemble,
to more minimal looks from Preen, Peter Som.

Left to right: Thakoon, Marc Jacobs, Preen, Peter Som.

    5. THIGH-HIGH SLITS
Leg-bearing cuts emote a sensual and sleek vibe.

Hemlines are getting longer but that doesn't mean you won't be showing
some skin. We foresee ourselves wearing these thigh-high slits — seen from Michael Kors,
Diane von Furstenberg, Jenni Kayne, and Jason Wu — to swanky dinner soirees
and cocktail parties in the near future.

Left to right: Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Jenni Kayne, Jason Wu.

    6. SHEARLING AND FUR
Sumptuous shearling and fur made a major mark in our book.

We're heady in lust with the endless shearling and fur options from
the runway. For those not opposed to it, check out these amazing
looks from Vera Wang, Prabal Gurung, Rag & Bone,
and Alexander Wang for the ultimate
    and decadent Winter essential.

Left to right: Vera Wang, Prabal Gurung, Rag & Bone, Alexander Wang.

    7. PENCIL SKIRTS
Lady-like skirts are back and better than ever.

We're stowing away our mini-skirts for this chic cut now and later for Fall.
Details, like buckles on Altuzarra's version and Libertine's textural
print, add the perfect punky and artful touch
    to an otherwise modest shape.

Left to right: Tommy Hilfiger, Altuzarra, Libertine, Marc Jacobs.

    8. CAPES AND PONCHOS
Capes and ponchos are here to stay.

If you haven't invested in a poncho or cape, now is the time. Fall 2011
displayed a cornucopia of new styles, ranging from a nubby off-white Western-inspired
poncho from Band of Outsiders to a vibrant streamlined cape coat
from DKNY. What's not to love?

Left to right: DKNY, Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, Edun.

    9. DUSTER COATS
Elegant floor-sweeping coats grabbed our attention.

Duster coats will become a Winter essential thanks to Rodarte, Bill Blass,
Michael Kors, and Theyskens Theory. We especially love them paired with long
    maxis and wide-leg trouser pants
